FYM PRESS PLAY: CULL.TV


A FREE simple idea that many should take note of -Cull.TV is reinventing the way you watch music videos on the internet. This new website (cull.tv) is perfect for dorm rooms and house parties: CTV allows users to create customized music video playlists (that you can share with your friends) -Enjoy your selections in Cull.TV’s sleek full-screen viewing format. The sites well placed hidden pop-up navigation provides a non-evasive experience, making the user feel like they’re watching TV.


Since MTV for many years hasn’t lived up to their acronym (where’s the MUSIC on TV?) -fans of sonic cinema have been craving for a simple format to watch multiple music videos in one sitting (Cull.TV comes to the rescue). Obviously as AVID music lovers FYM has decided to start our own channel. We will be making special video playlists -just like what we’ve been doing on spotify. FYM’s inaugural Cull.TV video playlist focuses on going BIG on the weekends (for all lifestyles). Let the party begin -kickoff your Friday night by clicking HERE. This week FYM is proud to present a crisp new video playlist for the month of October over at the forYoungModerns Channel featured on Cull.TV. Click the image above to check out our Top 20 music videos handpicked for your late night Autumn escapades. We’ve even decided to pepper-in a few of our favorite campy TV commercials and classic movie trailers to give our channel a more authentic viewing sensation. Below we spotlight just a taste of what to expect from our October forYoungModerns Video Playlist: It’s the spirit of indie-pop San Francisco (our sister city) with an early in their career showstopper by Girls Lust for Life.



ABOUT THE PLAYLIST: As a part of the original MTV generation -our hearts remain in the 1980’s with visuals from: Lita Ford, Erasure and Kate Bush. We’ve also dedicated a large portion of our video mix to the latest contemporary wonders -our favorite sonic mainstays on HEAVY ROTATION at FYM HQ with jams from: The Late Great Fitzcarraldos, SBTRKT, Girls and Lana Del Rey. And of course we had to included a few music videos for sheer spectacle like: Frankie Smith (Double Dutch Bus), Mayer Hawthorne (A Long Time) and the PS22 Chorus (performing an incredible cover of Under the Milky Way -by The Church).

FYM PRESS PLAY: OUR CULL.TV HALLOWEEN INSPIRED MUSIC VIDEO PLAYLIST



One week from today our favorite party of the year happens- Halloween (Click the image above to view our featured channel on Cull.TV). In addition to this month’s Autumn Escapades selections we have put together a spooky-fresh Halloween inspired ToP 20 Cull.TV Video Playlist -a perfect background to your 2011 black celebrations (Depeche Mode reference).



FYM has decided to leave out the typical Halloween video choices (Thriller) and dig a little deeper for holiday novelties as shown above with The Fat Boys ode to Freddy Krueger -Are You Ready Freddy.


Other video choices include contemporary wonders like: Zola Jesus, EMA, The XX, and Black Mountain. We’ve also decided to include a few classics from -Talking Heads, Depeche Mode, The Smiths and the Ramones. It’s a perfect mix of it’s dead man’s party inspired sonic cinema.

It’s no secret that forYoungModerns is in LOVE with a new website that premiered in 2011- Cull.TV. It’s a concept that gives back the power of choice to music fans across the nation. With Cull.TV you can experience the latest music videos online in a sleek interface meant for social gatherings and late night parties. Cull comes with several new music discovery options for avid fans nostalgic for the hey-day of MTV (when they actually played Music on Television). -Simply type in the url, and be directly taken to Cull.TV’s home channel, sit back and enjoy the best and latest jams from new, now, next sonic contenders. Or you also have the option of clicking on their featured channel link list and choosing from a wide selection of consistently updated video playlists curated by music connoisseurs such as yours truly: FYM. But if you are like us and wanna have it your way, Cull also allows users to create their own music video playlists and easily share them with friends. As FYM rolls back into a new year, our first Cull.TV playlist is dedicated to reflections of the past, as well as looking forward into the bright future for music in 2012. With this month’s video selections we revisit a few classic artists who rocked the music world earlier in the month, with announcements of reunion concerts for what is turning out to be the most important festival of the new year, Coachella (Snoop & Dre, Refused, At The Drive-In and Pulp).
